EU Member States are starting to publish their own data protection legislation to deal with permitted GDPR derogations and implementation of the Law Enforcement Directive. Member States have made varying degrees of progress with Germany leading the pack. The UK recently published its own draft legislation which has the added complexity of trying to 'Brexit proof' itself. Our international team takes a look at the state of play.

In the run up, regulators are publishing guidance on a range of compliance points which businesses may be dealing with for the first time, which are particularly complex, or which simply need a bit of further explanation.
